What if blades, harsh, brutal, unrelenting blades, are the best teacher of all? What if we should all start there, with feedback that hurts and helps in equal measure? Learn feel, control, strike, discipline. Then move to forgiveness once we’ve earned it.
That’s the path I took, not by design, but by accident. And it shaped me. It helped me understand my swing, my game and my limits. My ball striking today is better than it’s ever been. And I owe much of that to the years I spent fighting with clubs that didn’t care how new I was. Blades don’t flatter. But they do reveal. And maybe, just maybe, that’s where the real learning lives.
