As we celebrate the first edition and pay homage to our roots, we turn our attention to three of Surrey’s most beautiful heathland courses - the historic Three W’s: Worplesdon, Woking, and West Hill. These storied layouts, separated by mere yards rather than miles, perfectly capture the essence of heathland golf, with their firm, sandy soil, vibrant heather, and towering pines. Each has its own character, its own devoted admirers, and its own claim to greatness. Yet, the long-running debate over which of the trio reigns supreme remains as lively as ever - a question that has divided opinion for generations and one that may never truly be settled.
